Payments & Deposits

All orders require a 50% deposit at the time an order is placed to secure date. If an invoice is sent, you have 24 hours to pay the deposit or payment or the order will be cancelled. The remaining balnce must be paid in full 1 day prior to scheduled pick up.

 

Cancellation

All deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable. If a client must cancel they must do so within 1 weeks prior to their event. Cancellations within the week of an event will not be acknowledged an all monies paid will be forfieted.

 

Pickup & Delivery

All cakes are PICK UP ONLY, must be picked up at the scheduled time given on the initial order form UNLESS otherwise stated prior to pickup.

We require that all wedding cakes be delivered and setup. Delivery rate is set at $10 in the Prince Georges County, Maryland area ($1.00 per mile to other areas in the DMV area). Once an order is picked up it is the responsibility of the client or designated person who picks it up. The Icings on Top will not be held responsible for any damage made to the cake after it leaves our store or after it is setup after a delivery.

 

Pricing

All cakes are priced based on the number of guest you will be serving along with the option of buttercream or fondant finish. The minimun servings on all custom fondant cakes is 30 guest. All pricing inquires can be sent to theicingsontop@yahoo.com
Cupcakes come in orders of half a dozen(6) and full dozen(12), Fondant option are also avaiable.

 

Fondant vs Buttercream?

Fondant: A sugar dough that is rolled thin and molded over a buttercream coated cake. it's taste is sweet and texture a bit chewy. it's finish is matte, as long as the weather is dry, and the edges are rounded. Gives the cake a more polished look overall.

Buttercream: We use a homemade buttercream that is delightfully rich but not too sweet. It's smooth texture and taste complement all cakes and fillings.
